Early 19th century Freach hand colored lithogrpahs circa 1819 by C. Motte.

Motte was one of the important early French lithographers, responsible for translating Oudarts natural history drawings into printed plates, which were subsequently hand colored. One of the pioneer's of french lithographic printing, Motte worked when lithographs were relatively new technology. He is cataloged in the Smithsonian. 
Lithographs are matted in Moire fabric with gold inner filet, contemporary burl-wood style frames. Birds translated from French: The Common Redshank, The Spotted Sandpiper, Horned Grebe, and Little Grebe.
