1840s hand-colored lithograph from the famous French equestrian periodical Journal des haras (fully titled Journal des haras, des chasses et des courses de chevaux), which was published in Paris between 1828 and 1862.The signature on the bottom-left reads H. Lalaisse, identifying the work of François Hippolyte Lalaisse (1810–1884), a renowned French painter and illustrator celebrated for his highly detailed plates of regional French horse breeds and military uniforms.
