Beautidul 18th-century French faïence oval dish, attributed to Rouen, with a beautifully worn “cul noir” manganese-brown reverse. The scalloped form is hand-painted with a delicate blue and manganese border surrounding a central basket of flowers motif.
The extensive crazing, glaze loss, and wear are consistent with the age and give this piece the wonderfully timeworn character we love in antique French pottery.
Please note: This is an antique with age-appropriate imperfections, including glaze wear, surface marks, and variations consistent with its age and handmade construction. These characteristics are part of its charm and should be expected.
